Non return valves
no products foundIn plumbing, a check valve refers to an accessory used to control the flow direction of any fluid. Therefore, you install this device when you need the fluid to always circulate in a single direction. This goal is common to all types of check valves, but the model that suits you best essentially depends on the intended use.
Check valves are mainly installed after the water meter and the main shut-off valve. The existing types can be swing or guided disc. The former is generally used on a horizontal or vertical pipe and can be used even at low pressure, while the latter is suitable for a significant flow and also helps to avoid "water hammer." This phenomenon occurs when shutting off faucets, producing noises in your plumbing system that resemble more or less light rumblings. This sound actually results from a sudden change in pressure in the plumbing, which can damage it in the long term. The guided disc model is thus perfect for pipes carrying loaded and aggressive waters. In this case, the check valve is part of the elements securing your sanitary installation by acting as a water hammer arrestor. Finally, among the fittings used daily, some of these devices are very common, especially the 1-inch (M/F) brass check valves. In gardening, too, a female check valve proves to be very practical for watering.
