These are adapters for the V7 and V8 models. They allow the use of older accessories with the V6, V7, or V8 models. They are not compatible with other models that have similar-looking attachments. The red adapter button fits into the V7 or V8 and allows the use of most DC16-DC75 attachments (except for the cylinder of some attachments). The second adapter fits into the first and allows the use of V7 or V8 vacuum bags with DC01-DC14 attachments and standard 32mm attachments from other devices. This adapter is also compatible with older cordless models. These adapters are not compatible with the DC11, DC15, DC19, DC20, or DC21 attachments, nor with floor nozzles that use a bottle attachment.
