Description

Origin: STIHL: 11301200603, C1Q-S57. This Zama carburetor fits the Stihl chainsaws MS 170, MS 180, 017, and 018. The carburetor is a key component of your chainsaw. It ensures the optimal mixture of fuel (gasoline) and oxygen (air), which ignites, igniting the spark plug and transferring energy to the engine. The carburetor regulates the air-fuel mixture before it enters the combustion chamber. It is therefore essential for starting the combustion engine. Simply replace the carburetor on your Stihl chainsaw. An incorrectly adjusted or defective carburetor can disrupt the fuel-air mixture during combustion. The result: The chainsaw becomes unusually loud, won't start, smokes, or loses power. The same applies to a clogged carburetor. We recommend cleaning the carburetor with a cloth and brush, then thoroughly greasing it. If the part is irreparable, replace it with this replacement carburetor for Stihl MS170, MS180, 017, or 018 chainsaws. Adjusting the mixture screws: After replacing the carburetor on your Stihl chainsaw, check the condition of the gasket between the carburetor and the cylinder. Then adjust the gasket using a flathead screwdriver. The carburetor has two mixture screws: the L-screw (for "low" or "low RPM") and the H-screw (for "high" or "high RPM"). First, tighten both screws completely, then turn them out two turns. From this starting position, you can fine-tune the mixture by ear. Simply start your power tool, listen to the sounds, and adjust the screws in half-turn increments according to the sound. Example: If your Stihl chainsaw engine stalls before acceleration, slightly turn the "low" mixture screw out to enrich the mixture. Conversely, if the engine stalls after acceleration, this means there is too much fuel in the mixture, and the idle mixture screw needs to be tightened. Don't hesitate to consult your chainsaw's technical documentation. It usually contains valuable information on carburetor adjustment. Have you lost your machine's instruction manual? The manufacturer may offer it for download as a PDF on their official website.
