Why a screwdriver? Because it is a hand tool that is always useful for everyday repairs. Why a flathead screwdriver - also called a slotted screwdriver? Because it matches the most common screw imprint in the DIY field. So, on this page, you will find our offer of cheap flathead screwdrivers!
The screwdriver seems to be a standard tool; no difficulty - at first glance - in finding the one we need. Well, think again, a screwdriver is a more complex tool than it appears, and choosing the right screwdriver for perfect work requires some basic knowledge...
Follow our instructions to make your choice.
First of all, the slotted screwdriver is suitable for screwing slotted screws. If you use this type of screwdriver for other applications - for example, for a Phillips screw - you will not have optimized torque and you risk damaging both the screw and the screwdriver.
Next, be aware that there are 2 types of flathead screwdrivers: those called "mechanic’s screwdrivers,” the bit head is straight; and those called "electrician’s screwdrivers" whose bit is flared. With mechanic’s screwdrivers, you will have better screwing and/or unscrewing force. Regarding electrician’s flathead screwdrivers, with their straight bit, they allow screwing "recessed" screws (deep within a support).
Finally, among the slotted screwdrivers, you can find stubby or short-blade flathead screwdrivers. They are characterized by their small length that allows them to access screw locations with limited clearance.
Now it’s up to you to make your choice from our selection of premium brand screwdrivers at unbeatable prices!
