If you want to stay safe while having fun on the trampoline, it’s a good idea to invest in some handy accessories. From trampoline ladders and safety nets to safety pads, protective covers and anchor kits, here's our guide to picking the right equipment for your trampoline.

Important features

  • UV resistance
  • Size
  • Material

Trampoline covers

Trampoline covers offer a range of features worth noting:

  • they can be fitted in autumn to protect the jump mat from dead leaves;

  • they are also practical for protecting the trampoline (jump mat, springs and metal frame) from moisture during rainy seasons;

  • they protect the safety pad from UV ray exposure;

  • note that they should be the right size (to match the trampoline diameter);

  • they should also be made from a breathable material for better water drainage.

Trampoline safety nets

Safety nets are equally important accessories:

  • they prevent users from landing on the ground;

  • their use is recommended for small trampolines (measuring less than 300 cm in diameter);

  • they allow you to reduce the safety clearancearound the trampoline to around 50 cm (as opposed to 2 or 3 metres);

  • they can be fastened to the foam-covered postsattached trampoline's U-shaped legs.

  • Safety nets should also be fitted to the dimensions of the trampoline (diameter and circumference).

Trampoline safety pads

Trampoline safety pads feature among the most important accessories available:

  • They prevent users from crashing into the springs and metal frame of the trampoline;

  • Their width depends on the length of the springs;

  • The padding foam must be thick (at least 20 mm) for shock absorption;

  • Safety pads should also be selected according to the size of the trampoline.

  • When the pad wears out, you can either repurchase the original pad or choose a universal model.

Trampoline anchor kits

Anchor kits offer a range of benefits:

  • theystop the trampoline from moving as you bounce;

  • they also prevent the equipment from blowing over in the wind;

  • Anchor kits are made up of stakes that are driven into the ground and straps which are used to hold down the trampoline;

  • the number of stakes you need depends on the size of the trampoline.

Ladders, safety skirts and storage nets

A number of other accessories may prove useful:

  • ladders can be used to offer easier access to the trampoline for young children. However, they should never be used with models that do not feature safety nets;

  • skirts are used to stop children from going underneath the trampoline at the risk of being jumped on by those on the trampoline;

  • storage nets are useful for holding shoes or other small items.

Finally, it's important to remember that safety accessories (safety nets and pads) and protective covers must be chosen with the size of the trampoline in mind. It is advisable to measure the diameter of your trampoline in two different places in order to make sure you have the correct measurements.
