Features of trampoline ladders

Trampoline ladders offer a number of benefits:

  • they allow you to get on and off the trampoline easily and prevent children from injuring themselves by jumping off the edge;

  • they are available in various lengths, from 75 cm up to more than 1 metre, to fit different types of trampolines (which can vary in height as well as diameter);

  • they usually feature two or three rungs;

  • some models are made up of metal poles while others feature flat rungs;

  • you can choose from aluminium or steel for the ladder frame while the rungs can be made from plastic;

  • some ladders feature metals rungs for greater strength. These rungs are usually covered with non-slip plastic to ensure user safety;

  • ladders can be easily fitted to the frame of the trampoline via a fastening system.

Conditions of use

When using a trampoline ladder you must follow certain rules.

  • Ladders must only be used with trampolines fitted withsafety nets. This safety feature makes accessing the trampoline more difficult – even for teenagers.

  • Some discourage the use of ladders with trampolines that do not feature safety nets as this can lead to young children (aged 6 or less) accessing the jump mat without supervision. Nonetheless, it is easy enough to remove the ladder when there aren't any adults present.

Ladders are not recommended for use in public places such as play areas and camp sites.

Tips for choosing a trampoline ladder

Just like traditional ladders, there are various factors to consider when it comes to picking a trampoline ladder:

  • flat, non-slip plastic rungs are the safest option for both adults and children;

  • rungs made from steel poles are usually strong enough to withstand the weight of an adult ;

  • inclined ladders are easier for both adults and children to use;

  • ladders made from metal can be treatedagainst corrosion, which is a real advantage as this accessory is generally used outdoors;

  • some models are supplied in packs complete with a safety net.

Trampoline ladders are great for increasing the user comfort of your trampoline. However, please remember that they must be used with caution to ensure the safety of young children.
