DOLMAR
Dolmar is a German company that invented the 1st petrol chainsaw (back in 1927) through its founder Emil Lerp. His wife named the company "Dolmar" after the mountain in the Thuringian forest where the engineer had carried out his first tests. Dolmar followed in the footsteps of its founder by working hard on R&D. In 1972, for example, it developed an original vibration system with two damping masses. In 1975, DOLMAR created the KMS4, the first chainsaw with a rotary engine, which was a great success. In 1987, Dolmar launched the first chainsaws with injection carburettors. Makita, which took over the group in 1991, has kept production of Dolmar chainsaws in Germany, in order to maintain the quality that has always been the hallmark of the German company.
