Ei Electronics is recognised as one of the leaders in the residential fire safety market. It is also one of Ireland's largest electronics companies with over 600 employees. Ei Electronics is a wholly Irish-owned company. It was formed in March 1988 by the management buy-out of General Electric, which had been in business since 1963. The company has grown steadily by developing a whole range of innovative equipment based on cutting-edge technological processes. These products are designed to meet the most demanding customer requirements. All sales, marketing, research and development and manufacturing functions are housed in the company's 22,000 square metre facility in Shannon, Co Clare, close to Shannon International Airport.
