Hettich is THE global specialist in furniture fittings and has remained a 100% family-owned business since 1888. Karl Hettich created the famous "Buckmaschine" to automate the production of cuckoo clock anchors, followed in 1928 by the mass production of piano hinges, paving the way for the manufacture of hardware. Andreas Hettich is the 4th generation to run the company. Hettich is present in America, Europe and Asia, with 6,000 employees and a turnover of €800 million. It is based in Kirchlengern, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company has received a number of awards, including the national Green Building Award in 2009 and the European "Q in Gold" quality label for environmental and design innovation. Hettich is also heavily involved in environmental protection, complying with the EMAS directive. The company is also a preferred supplier to Miele and IKEA.
