Do cats need a bed?
In general, it is best if cats have a bed to sleep in during the day and at night. Although cats can sleep pretty much anywhere in the home, having their own bed to sleep in provides a sense of security and their own space.
What kind of bed is good for cats?
Cat beds come in a wide range of sizes and styles with different materials used. Pads and cushions are usually the most common style, however pods are becoming more popular. Also, if your cat likes looking out of the window, perches exist for them to sleep in.
Do cats like open or closed beds?
If your cat is left alone for quite a lot of the time during the day, an open bed may be preferable as they will try to get your attention when you are there. However, a closed bed, much like a real bed, will provide much more security and quiet, especially if you have a busy and noisy home.
Why don't cats use cat beds?
If you are looking for a suitable cat bed, it may be quite difficult for your cat to become familiar with the concept if they are used to sleeping somewhere else. It can also be quite problematic at the start as the cat bed may have an unfamiliar odour which they need to get used to.
