I decided to replace a live plant which after standing proudly for almost 10 years, was killed by last winter's prolonged cold and damp conditions. This is the right height and spread for my front door. Something different and more attractive than the usual plants people have. I like that the individual branches can be positioned whichever way I want since they're wired. The green of the leaves might be too bright and uniform all over. Looking at pictures of real Japanese Maple trees, some leaves have reddish or rust toned edges and branches. Might be a better combination for a more realistic effect.
