These can be repaired. Check the tire for thorns, etc., and remove them if necessary. Double punctures are usually caused by a rim clamp. The inner tube has been pinched between the rim and an object on the road/path. Increase the air pressure or use wider tires. A tire blowout causes a large, jagged hole. These are usually irreparable. Also check the tire and rim for damage. A long cut or tear can also indicate a tire blowout. This, too, is typically irreparable. Be careful when mounting the tire. Before mounting: Inspect the tread for nails, shards of glass, thorns, or other protruding objects. Visually inspect the inside of the casing for nails, glass, or dirt. Wipe the inside of the casing with a cloth and then gently feel it with your fingers. Be careful when using a tire lever. A tire lever can easily damage the inner tube. Check both sides of the tire for bead seating and for signs that the inner tube has slipped out. Remount the tire if necessary. How do you check for a puncture in the inner tube? Check for air loss by holding the inner tube close to the sensitive skin of your lips or near your ear. Move the inner tube along its circumference. If these steps don't work, push the hose into water and look for bubbles in the hole.
