Description
1) Reliable circuit protection (without residual current function)This 2P 50 A modular MCB is designed to provide protection against overloads and short circuits in low-voltage installations. It does not have leakage current protection (no residual current device/RCD): it acts only as an overcurrent protection device. It is suitable for standard distribution and outgoing circuit protection needs in a domestic consumer unit, a small shop, a distribution cabinet or a control box. For personal protection, it is recommended to combine it with a residual current device (RCD) or a residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) depending on the installation design.2) 2-pole format: simultaneous disconnection and improved maintenance safetyThe 2P (double-pole) configuration allows two conductors to be disconnected simultaneously. It is useful for isolating a circuit by disconnecting live + neutral (or two lives depending on the wiring diagram), which improves safety during troubleshooting and maintenance. In many consumer units, 2P prevents a conductor from mistakenly remaining live during work.3) 50 A rating: suitable for heavier outgoing circuits and demanding usesWith a rated current of 50 A, this circuit breaker is suitable for higher-power circuits: electric heating appliances, technical equipment, motors/pumps (checking the starting current and suitability of the choice). It can also be used to protect a sub-board or a main outgoing circuit of a small distribution system. The rating must remain consistent with the conductor cross-section, installation method, temperature and installation rules.4) C tripping curve: better tolerance to inrush currentThe C curve is suited to loads with inrush current at start-up, such as motors, fans, pumps, compressors, transformers or certain power tools. It limits nuisance tripping compared with a B curve, while maintaining effective protection: thermal tripping under prolonged overload and rapid magnetic disconnection in the event of a short circuit.5) Standards and performance characteristics: 6 kA, 230–400 V, EN 60898-1Designed for AC 230 to 400 V, 50/60 Hz networks, this circuit breaker offers a breaking capacity of 6 kA (Icn), suitable for many residential and light commercial applications. It complies with EN 60898-1, which makes integration and replacement in standard consumer units easier. In the event of a high prospective short-circuit current, check the Icc and consider a higher breaking capacity if necessary.
