Good enough quality, seems a little overpriced for what it is.
I bought this spanner to undo a basin waste nut that I could not get a large adjustable wrench to because of the confined space. For a simple box spanner made of steel, the price is high. But there appear to be very few suppliers so I had little choice. It is sturdy enoug, and fits the nut adequately, although not as snugly as I would have liked. Because of the confined space, and slightly slack fit, I still could not get good enough leverage on the tommy bar to undo the nut. The spanner did feel strong enough to do the job under better working conditions. Read more

The Monument 308L Waste Nut Box Spanner helped to restore my sanity!
Having read the reviews before I purchased this product, I was somewhat perturbed by the mention of the word 'heavy' because I don't have an abundance of physical strength. While I found the product to be quite weighty, it wasn't to the extent that I found it impossible to hold. What was a bit of an issue was the fact that I couldn't get it to fit snugly on the waste nut I had purchased it for (bathroom sink with a full pedestal). I had initially tried to use an adjustable wrench, but there wasn't enough space behind the back of the pedestal for me to hold it at the angle I required to get at the waste nut. I know very little about plumbing and the right tools for the job, so having spent ages trawling the internet in search of a solution, I eventually learned what a waste nut box spanner was. What an absolute Godsend it proved to be! Should anyone find themselves in the same situation that I was in, I would certainly advise they try using this product. Read more

Would be good if it fitted!
Needed about 15 minutes of careful filing before it fitted the 50mm basin waste nut. Essential though if the nut is recessed as in a counter top basin and I think this is the only one out there. Read more

It has two sizes available to use but trying it out plastic nut waste was too tight but didn’t need it for that and the brass nut was on the loose side but it did its job of loosening it

Not a very snug fit but that might have been the nut on the waste? Heavy piece of kit Only way to reach the nut up under my basin and still had all sorts of fun getting a good seal! Read more

It's a large box spanner. It fits!
Remove old and fitted new sink pop-up waste. Only caution - this is a heavy tool. If you're working underneath it, wear goggles! Read more
