If you're unsure how to choose your tap spout, follow these explanatory points that will guide your choice:
The height of the tap spout:
If you're changing the spout of your kitchen tap, we recommend a model with considerable height such as the swan neck spout to enjoy sufficient space to wash your dishes without problems.
The position of your tap body:
For example, we advise choosing an over-top or underneath spout if your tap body is fixed to the wall. If it's placed on the sink or the basin, opt for a swan neck spout or a goose neck spout.
The depth of your sink/basin:
Make sure to choose a tap spout tall enough to allow some freedom of movement in case your sink/basin has lesser depth.
The threading of your tap spout:
Don't make a mistake when purchasing; if the threading of the spout is different from the tap body, you will not be able to connect the pieces together. The main thread sizes for these products are: 1/2" (15x21mm) and 3/4" (20/27mm).
Here are some tips for installing your new tap spout:
Firstly, you will need to dismantle the tap handles by unscrewing the caps (red and blue corresponding to the water temperature) with a flathead screwdriver. Then remove the fixing screws located under the caps using a Phillips screwdriver. This will give you better access to undo the nut retaining the tap spout.
Secondly, unlock the nut that retains the spout in the tap body with a wrench or spanner. You can place a cloth between the nut and the wrench to prevent damaging the connection.
Thirdly, gently remove the spout by performing left to right rotation movements for easier extraction.
Finally, once the used spout is removed, replace it with the new one by reversing the actions detailed above.
