Description
1) Combined protection, enhanced safetyThis modular residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) combines in a single device protection against overloads and short circuits (circuit breaker function) and residual current protection against current leakage (risk of electric shock and insulation faults). In the event of a fault on the installation (overload, short circuit, degraded insulation, moisture, indirect contact with a metal mass, etc.), it trips quickly according to the applicable standards in order to limit the risk of fire of electrical origin and accidents. A particularly relevant solution for boards where greater wiring simplicity and clearer maintenance visibility are desired compared with combining several separate devices.2) 3P+N format suited to three-phase networks (3 phases + neutral)Designed as 3P+N, this device allows the three phases and the neutral to be included within the scope of control and protection, which matches common three-phase 400 V with neutral configurations in commercial buildings, workshops, small industrial sites and switchboard refurbishments. It is very suitable as protection for an outgoing board way or a three-phase circuit supplying equipment in 3~ (and possibly single-phase auxiliaries via the neutral, depending on the cabinet layout). This choice of polarity makes installation easier to keep compliant and more consistent in cabinets and distribution enclosures in a European environment.3) 40 A rating and C curve: for loads with inrush currentThe C40 A rating provides stable operating capacity for typical medium-power circuits: small production equipment, motors, fans, pumps, certain professional kitchen appliances, area or floor outgoing ways, etc. The C tripping curve better tolerates start-up inrush currents (motors, compressors, transformers, power supplies), reducing nuisance tripping during start-up while maintaining a suitable level of protection. For correct sizing, it is recommended to take into account cable cross-section, installation method, ambient temperature and the actual load conditions in order to avoid any upstream overheating.4) Network compatibility and breaking performanceCompatible with AC 50–60 Hz networks and an operating voltage range stated up to 400 V AC (depending on the system configuration), this residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection integrates into standard three-phase installations. Its 6 kA breaking capacity allows a short-circuit current to be safely interrupted within the specified limits, helping to protect conductors and limit damage on the faulty circuit. This is a level commonly expected on distribution outgoing ways in enhanced residential, commercial and small workshop environments, subject to verification of the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point.5) Compliant with EN 61009, installation and operation designed for real-world useCompliant with EN 61009 (European reference standard for residual current circuit breakers with overcurrent protection), this product makes selection easier as part of a project, a switchboard refurbishment or a maintenance intervention, with a recognised compliance framework. Recommended mounting on a DIN rail in a suitable board, with terminal tightening to the prescribed torque and clear conductor identification. In the event of repeated tripping, it is advisable to distinguish an overcurrent cause (overload, short circuit) from a residual current cause (earth leakage, moisture, damaged cable, insulation fault in a device) in order to target the diagnosis. Periodic checking of connections and of the general condition of the board contributes to durable and safe operation.
