Description
1) Complete 2-in-1 protection for your consumer unitsThis 4P 25 A miniature residual current circuit breaker combines in a single device protection against overloads and short circuits (circuit breaker function) and protection against insulation faults / earth leakage (residual current function). In the event of a fault (prolonged overcurrent, severe short circuit, risk of current leakage to earth), it trips quickly in order to cut the power supply and limit cable overheating, equipment damage and the risk of electric shock. It is a particularly relevant solution when you want to go further than a simple “standard” modular circuit breaker by adding an essential level of safety, particularly in installations where people often handle electrical appliances.2) 4P format: ideal for three-phase + neutral (simultaneous disconnection)With its 4 poles (4P), this model is designed for 400 V three-phase networks with neutral (3P+N), common in small workshops, shops, air conditioning systems, technical equipment, three-phase motors and control panels. The 4P allows coordinated disconnection of the conductors, which makes operation and circuit maintenance easier, while providing uniform protection on the lines concerned. It is also suitable for applications where several conductors need to be isolated in a single operation, in an advanced domestic consumer unit, a secondary consumer unit or a distribution box dedicated to a machine.3) Electrical characteristics suited to common installationsRated current: 25 A – for outgoing circuits whose operating current remains durably below 25 A, allowing a reasonable margin to avoid nuisance tripping and premature ageing of the conductors.Operating voltage: AC 230/400 V – compatible with the most common 230 V single-phase and 400 V three-phase environments.Frequency: 50–60 Hz – flexible use depending on the network.Breaking capacity: 6 kA – switching capacity in the event of a major fault, suited to residential settings and many “light” commercial uses. These parameters make it a versatile device for securing a line, a sub-consumer unit or a machine circuit, balancing protection and continuity of service.4) C tripping curve: designed for loads with inrush currentThe C curve is recommended when equipment has a starting current or transient peaks: motors, compressors, certain pumps, portable power tools, professional devices or air conditioning installations. Compared with a B curve, it tolerates these inrushes better, which reduces the risk of tripping on start-up while maintaining effective protection in the event of a genuine overload or short circuit. For correct sizing, it is still advisable to assess the actual current of the line (and the cable cross-section), especially when several loads are likely to operate simultaneously.5) EN 61009 compliance and installation recommendations (safety)Compliant with EN 61009, this device falls within the category of residual current circuit breakers, suitable for European modular consumer units. For residual current protection to be fully effective, the installation must have compliant earthing and careful wiring (phase/neutral identification, terminal tightening, no overheating). It is recommended to have installation carried out by a qualified electrician, particularly for three-phase systems. In the event of repeated tripping, it is preferable to investigate the cause (insulation leakage, moisture, damaged cable, load exceeding 25 A) rather than replace the device with a higher rating, which could reduce line protection.
