1) Reliable protection against overload and short-circuit (without residual current protection)This 4P 40 A miniature circuit breaker MCB is designed to protect electrical circuits in the event of overload or short-circuit. Installed in an electrical consumer unit, it automatically cuts off the power supply when the current exceeds the intended thresholds, thereby limiting the risks of conductor overheating, appliance damage and electrical incidents. For a safe and compliant installation, sizing and connection must be carried out by a qualified person.4) C curve: a good compromise for residential and commercial usesThe C tripping curve is recognised for its versatility: it better accepts moderate inrush currents (starting of certain motors, fans, small pumps, air conditioning, supply of groups of sockets or lighting with transient peaks) than a B curve circuit breaker, while remaining more responsive than a D curve reserved for very high inrush currents. This behaviour helps to limit unwanted tripping while maintaining a relevant level of protection for the majority of outgoing circuits in homes, shops and offices. The final choice nevertheless depends on the exact nature of the loads and the installation constraints (loop impedance, line length, starting conditions).5) AC 230–400 V compatibility, 50/60 Hz, 6 kA breaking capacity, EN 60898-1 standardThis circuit breaker is designed for AC 230 to 400 V networks (single-phase 230 V and three-phase 400 V) and a 50/60 Hz frequency, which makes it suitable for many electrical environments. Its 6 kA breaking capacity contributes to safe disconnection in the event of a major fault, limiting damage to the installation. It is stated to comply with the EN 60898-1 standard, the reference for modular circuit breakers intended for domestic and similar applications, making equipment selection easier as part of consumer unit integration. For complete protection of people, provide in addition a residual current device suited to the use (and to the regulatory requirements of your installation).
