Description
1) Reliable circuit protection – without residual current function (RCD)This 4P 63 A modular MCB is designed to protect distribution installations in a domestic, commercial (shops, offices) or small workshop electrical consumer unit. Its main role is to provide protection against overcurrents: it trips automatically in the event of an overload (progressive heating of conductors) or a short circuit (sudden fault), in order to limit the risk of cable deterioration, damage to appliances and electrical incidents. Please note: this is a non-RCD miniature circuit breaker, therefore without protection against current leakage/indirect contact. For personal safety (particularly in bathrooms, outdoor sockets, damp environments), it is recommended to add an RCD or to opt for an RCBO depending on the installation design.2) 4-pole format: ideal for three-phase + neutral and simultaneous disconnectionThe 4P (four-pole) configuration is particularly suited to 400 V three-phase networks with neutral, where the aim is to protect and isolate the three phases and the neutral simultaneously. It is a relevant choice for certain three-phase equipment supplies, outgoing ways from a consumer unit or sub-consumer units, as well as for applications where neutral disconnection is desired as part of the circuit design. For a strictly single-phase installation, 1P, 1P+N or 2P versions are often more economical; here, the 4P is clearly intended for three-phase + N uses or full disconnection requirements.3) Electrical characteristics suited to European networks: 63 A, 230–400 V, 50/60 HzWith a rated current of 63 A, this circuit breaker is suitable for medium to high power circuits, in line with conductor sizing and the actual power drawn. It accepts an AC operating voltage of 230 to 400 V (compatible with common 230 V single-phase and 400 V three-phase configurations) and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, making it easy to integrate into most electrical environments compliant with European practices. The choice of rating must remain consistent: a circuit breaker rated too high may delay tripping under overload and increase cable heating; a rating that is too low may cause nuisance tripping. Sizing by an electrician is recommended (cross-section, installation method, length, type of load).4) C tripping curve: a good compromise for common loads with inrush currentThe C curve offers magnetic tripping designed to tolerate moderate start-up peaks (inrush current), while remaining effective on real faults. It is generally recommended for circuits supplying sockets, lighting, domestic appliances, as well as certain low-power motorised equipment (ventilation, pump, light compressor) likely to generate a peak on start-up. This feature reduces the risk of tripping during normal start-up, while ensuring rapid disconnection in the event of a short circuit or prolonged overload.5) 6 kA breaking capacity and EN 60898-1 compliance: standard integration in a consumer unitWith a breaking capacity of 6 kA, this circuit breaker is designed to safely interrupt a short-circuit current of up to 6 000 A under the intended conditions, which corresponds to many residential and commercial contexts. In sites close to a transformer or where the prospective short-circuit level is higher, checking the short-circuit current at the installation point is strongly recommended in order to choose a suitable breaking capacity. The product complies with EN 60898-1, a common reference standard for modular circuit breakers, making compatibility with standard consumer units and accessories easier (DIN rail mounting, modular organisation). For a durable installation: tightening to torque, conductor identification, periodic checking for overheating/odours/anomalies and work by qualified personnel.
