Description
Morning glory belongs to the Convolvulaceae family, genus Ipomoea, and is an annual or perennial climbing herbaceous plant. Morning glory seeds are usually sown in spring, with flowering occurring in summer and autumn. There are many varieties with flowers in blue, bright red, pink, purple, etc., often with variations along the petal edges. It is a commonly used ornamental plant.

Prefers fertile, loose soil, tolerates moisture, drought, and some salinity.

Propagation is mainly through sowing.

Generally sown in spring and summer; in the warm regions of southern China, multiple sowings are possible for prolonged flowering, but autumn sowing is preferred for spring flowers and spring sowing for summer flowers.

Optimal germination temperature: 20–23 °C; seedlings grow once temperature exceeds 10 °C.
Flowering Period:

From June to October; most flowers open in the morning and wither by midday.
Sowing Method:

Sow when the average daily temperature exceeds 15 °C.

Direct sowing: apply base fertilizer before sowing. In late March, sow seeds in small clusters in loosened soil, 2 cm deep; seedlings appear in 10–15 days.

Pot sowing: soak seeds for 4–6 hours in warm water or treat with sulfuric acid, then cover with about 1 cm of soil, keep soil moist and warm, germination in 5–6 days. Transplant when seedlings have two true leaves, spacing 30 cm.
