Description

The ABUS 65 Series brass padlocks combine a solid brass body with a hardened steel shackle finished in NANO PROTECT coating for improved corrosion resistance. Internal components are made from non-corrosive materials and the precision pin cylinder uses mushroom counter pins with a paracentric keyway to offer greater protection against manipulation. This keyed 65/40 model is supplied as a quad pack and has ABUS security level 5; shackle Ø 6mm, shackle height 22mm, shackle width 22mm, overall dimensions 40 × 62 × 15 mm (W × H × D). Ideal for securing medium-value items such as chains, doors, gates, cupboards, toolboxes and for both internal and external use.

Appalling. it is supposed to be a security padlock, but as soon as it is received it is used to close a container. When squeezing with the hand it gets stuck, it does not close and when trying to remove the key it breaks.

ABUS, an acronym for August Bremicker und Söhne KG, is a German company specialising in security equipment (mainly padlocks, anti-theft devices and locks). Since its foundation in 1924 in Volmarstein in the Ruhr by August Bremicker, the company has specialised in padlocks: its first model, the IRON ROCK, was designed in the attic of the family home. Bremicker then used solid brass, which was lighter but just as strong as steel, revolutionising the padlock industry. In 1949, it was the famous DISKUS padlock that became the benchmark for padlocks to this day, such was its revolutionary design. But the most successful padlocks were the Granit padlocks. In 1971, it developed the first anti-theft bicycle locks. ABUS has remained a family business, with the fourth generation at the helm. It has diversified into bicycle locks, container locks, marine engine locks, HOMETEC electronic door locks, etc.
