General description

Blackfriar Professional Water Based Floor Sealer is a clear, water-borne sealer specifically designed for bare floors. It is ideal for brick, masonry, and concrete surfaces, and can also function as a dust proofer. This sealer penetrates, binds, and seals porous surfaces, making it suitable for use beneath Blackfriar Professional Acrylic Floor Paint on porous surfaces.

Technical specifications

  • Coverage Rate: 10-15 square metres per litre per coat
  • Drying Time: 2-4 hours at 20°C
  • Full cure: 3-5 days at 20°C

    • Installation

  • Ensure the surface is sound, clean, dry, and free from grease or any substances that may cause adhesion problems.
  • Scrape off any old or flaking paint to achieve a firm surface.
  • Pay special attention to areas under cars, ensuring all oil, grease, dirt, and road salt are removed.
  • New concrete must cure for at least 6 months before applying the sealer.
  • If the concrete is very smooth, pre-treat with Blackfriar Professional Acid Etch, followed by thorough rinsing before applying the sealer.

    • Usage

  • Stir thoroughly before use.
  • Apply with a brush or roller, working the sealer into any surface imperfections.
  • Do not apply over non-porous substrates such as PVC, thermoplastic tiles, quarry tiles, asphalt floors, or granolithic concrete.
  • Avoid application on concrete treated with alkali-containing liquids, areas subjected to rising damp, or areas treated with PVA bonding solutions.
  • Do not apply in cold (below 10°C), damp, or humid conditions.
  • Allow a minimum of 4 hours drying time at 20°C between coats.

    • Other information

  • Clean up by removing as much product from application equipment as possible before washing with water.
  • Do not empty into drains or watercourses.
  • Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
