General description

Smartseal Block Magic is a premium blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins designed to rejuvenate and protect block paving driveways and patios. This product effectively restores the color lost due to sun exposure, rain, vehicles, and pressure washing, ensuring your paving looks like new. It is suitable for application on old or poorly conditioned pavers, which may require two coats for a uniform finish.

Technical specifications

Volume: 150ml

Covers approximately 3 m²/litre on average based on one coat (coverage may reduce to around 2.5 m²/litre on old pavers)

Composition: Liquid UV stable pigments blended with acrylic resins and solvents

Application method: Roller

Drying time: Tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C

Foot traffic permissible after 4 hours

Vehicles should be kept off the sealed area for a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C

Application temperature range: Do not apply when ground temperature is above 23°C or below 12°C

Installation

Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all surface debris and muck from joints.

Leave paving to dry for 5 clear and dry days.

For original sand color: Apply one coat of Block Magic with a roller, leave to dry for around 3 hours, re-sand with kiln-dried sand, and apply a coat of Smartseal Block Paving Sealer (MATT or SILK).

For changing sand color: Apply two coats of Block Magic with a roller, leaving 2 hours between each coat, and ensure no rainfall is forecast for at least 8 hours after application.

Usage

Block Magic is designed to recolor and protect block paving.

Expect 3-5 years of protection after applying the sealer, depending on factors such as traffic, weather, and maintenance.

Clean all equipment with Smartseal cleaning fluid after use.

Other information

Flammable liquid; keep application area well ventilated.

Wear a respirator, gloves, and goggles during application.

Store in a cool place; flash point 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup).

Tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) for Skid Resistance Value (SRV) compliance.

Not to be used on clay pavers or in combination with polyurethane.
