Description

General description

Smartseal Block Magic is a premium blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins designed to rejuvenate and protect block paving driveways and patios. This product effectively restores the color lost due to sun exposure, rain, vehicles, and pressure washing, making your paving look like new again. It is suitable for application on old block paving, although two coats may be necessary for a uniform finish on poorly conditioned surfaces.

Technical specifications

  • Volume: 25 Litres
  • Coverage: Approximately 3 m²/litre (around 2.5 m²/litre on old pavers)
  • Application method: Roller
  • Drying time: 3 hours before re-sanding; tack-free within 2 hours at 20°C
  • Foot traffic permissible after 4 hours; vehicles should be kept off for a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C
  • Temperature range for application: 12°C to 23°C
  • Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

    • Installation

  • Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all debris and dirt from joints.
  • Leave paving to dry for 5 clear and dry days.
  • For original sand color: Apply one coat of Block Magic with a roller, then re-sand with kiln-dried sand.
  • For changing sand color: Apply two coats of Block Magic with a roller, allowing 2 hours between coats, and ensure no rainfall is forecast for at least 8 hours after application.

    • Usage

  • Apply Block Magic to restore color and protect against future fading, weeds, algae, and staining.
  • For best results, follow the application guidelines based on whether you are keeping or changing the sand color.

    • Other information

  • Not suitable for clay pavers or in combination with polyurethane.
  • All equipment should be cleaned with Smartseal cleaning fluid after use.
  • Deicing salts should not be applied directly on sealed block paving.
  • Health & Safety: Flammable liquid; keep application area well ventilated and wear appropriate protective gear.
  • Tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) for skid resistance.
