The affordable rechargeable battery is on ManoMano! Every size is available on our site: AA, AAA, 9-volt batteries with top brands like Sony, Energizer… You're sure to find happiness among our batteries with NiMh charger, or lithium rechargeable batteries. To give you a clearer picture, our electricity expert will hasten to explain everything to you!
As a prelude, be aware that electricity enthusiasts call rechargeable batteries "batteries," because any source of electricity that can be recharged is a battery.
That being said, how do you choose your battery?
NiMH, NiCd, lithium, or alkaline, the notations are numerous and not always clear. Fortunately, ManoMano does not leave you stranded and will be delighted to illuminate your lantern (easy, yes).
So, I will present each of these technologies so that you can choose with full knowledge. You will find for each the different possible sizes (AA, AAA, etc…).
The old NiCd batteries, or Nickel Cadmium, are now only used for power tool batteries. Indeed, Cadmium, being highly toxic, its sale has been banned in the European Union as a "rechargeable battery."
It is now the NiMH batteries that are the reference product for the general public, or Nickel Metal Hydride. They discharge much less quickly and above all suffer less from the famous memory effect. To put it simply, if batteries are not completely discharged, they tend to memorize the threshold where they were recharged as their new minimum. Thus, if you always recharge batteries that are half discharged, they may lose 50% of their capacity.
Fortunately, NiMH batteries suffer little from this, which is suitable for domestic use. Lastly, they contain very few toxic materials, which is always pleasant for the environment! We recommend them for all your frequently used electronic devices: digital cameras, portable radios, etc…
However, do not overlook alkaline batteries just yet! Unlike NiCd and NiMH, which operate on 1.2 volts, rechargeable alkaline batteries work well at 1.5 volts. They can power all devices very sensitive to voltage, like Game Boys or other old electronic devices. However, they charge much more slowly than NiMH and deliver a much lower power. They are ideal as a backup device.
Finally, the latest newcomer to the rechargeable battery scene, the Li-ion lithium batteries. These are the most powerful and last the longest. However, they are also more expensive. Their voltage can vary from 1.5 to 3.7 volts.
One last note, the measurement in mAh that you will find on these batteries. This indicates its capacity, in milliamp-hour. The larger the value, the greater its charging capacity.
If you have any questions about our products, I am at your disposal to answer them. All that remains is to wish you a pleasant visit on ManoMano!
