Description

General description

This boiled linseed oil is designed to give a smooth, aged finish to new or stripped interior wood. It enhances the natural appearance of the wood while providing a durable, traditional finish. Additionally, it can be used as a sealer for porous surfaces like terracotta tiles and stone floors before waxing.

Suitable for interior use on all types of wood except exterior oak

Installation

Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application

Remove any previous finish thoroughly

For easier application, dilute the first coats with up to 30% turpentine

Usage

Apply the oil with a lint-free cloth or brush, rubbing well into the wood

After about 20 minutes, wipe off excess with a clean cloth to prevent sticky surfaces

Repeat the process once or twice at 24-hour intervals for best results

Finish with a final coat, allowing it to harden for a few days before use

Lightly rub with ultrafine steel wool between coats to improve finish

Other information

Maintenance involves wiping with a damp cloth and buffing dry; re-oil as needed

Store in a cool, dry place above 5°C with the lid tightly closed

If excess oil causes a sticky surface, wipe with white spirit and let dry before continuing

Be cautious of self-combustion; dispose of oily textiles and tools safely

Test on a small area to check color and compatibility before full application

Libéron is a French brand of V33, the leading manufacturer of paints and stains mainly for wood. The group owns the V33, Cecil, Diamantine, Libéron and Plastor brands. It was founded in 1953 in Domblans (Jura). In the 15th century, the royal abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs obtained a privilege exempting craftsmen from paying taxes when they set up shop on its land. The Seine also provided cabinetmakers in particular with access to their raw materials. Georges Libéron made a name for himself at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 with his antiseptic and parasiticide polish. One of its variations was the famous Oké paste. In 1990, V33 acquired the Libéron group, which specialised in cabinetmaking products and was the French leader in its field, having invented the legendary Black Bison wax, a decorative product for all surfaces. V33 and Libéron are very committed to protecting the environment: 50% of production is solvent-free, glycol ethers have been eliminated, and great care is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
