The carpet has a beautiful, hard-wearing pile. It was delivered as a roll in opaque foil, double wrapped. After unpacking there was no unpleasant smell and after a short time the carpet lay completely flat on the floor. However, it would have been nice if the back was anti-slip and you didn't have to apply or underlay an extra carpet stopper. But that was obvious.
