DEWALT DCS382N 18v Reciprocating saw

Absolutely brilliant. Had another recip saw from a lesser known brand and the difference is night and day. Brush less motor is super powerful but efficient and the vibrations are pretty minimal. Great price too.

I bought into DeWalt 18V clip-on tool range from 1999 because it was first to market with cordless jigsaw. Of the set of 5 tools I used jigsaw the most, second was the reciprocatin gsaw, third the circu;ar saw, drill hardly at all and the torch none at all. Since then I have had various Bosh Pro 14.4V tools, Bosch Domestic (green) tools) including reciprocating saw and various Makita 18V and mains powered tools including reciprocating saw. Of the 4 reciprocating saw I now have the most comfortable to use is the Bosch 700E because it ias the least vibration and noise. But it is mains corded. This reciprocating saw is one I would keep if I had to get rid of 3 because this is a big improvement on the original DeWalt (clip-on battery) saw and remains a cordless 18V tool which is very convenient to take around and to use away from a/c power source. It is noticeably lighter then older DeWalt and the other corded saws. It may be cordless but with the right blade, you would hardly notice the power difference as compared to the corded tools when cutting most timbers. However, if I was cutting a small tree I would use the Makita corded. I rate it 4 stars for value because I often find Makita products dicounted to less than DeWalt equivalent tool.
