General description

Dormer E500 straight flute taps are designed for versatility, allowing for tapping through or blind holes in various materials. They are the only type of taps that can be operated by hand, but can also be used in machines if necessary. When tapping blind holes, it is recommended to use straight flute taps in sets, which include a taper (first tap), intermediate (second tap), and bottoming (third or plug tap).

    Taps and dies buying guide

Taps and dies are essential to make or re-thread a screw, a nut or any other mechanical element. The three-piece tap sets are the most commoly used and the tap wrench is as important as the die stock for a proper tapping. Drilling is required before tapping.
