It's okay to troubleshoot and put round bits on a screwdriver with a 1/4 hex fitting, but the shank of the chuck is a bit long, a little play (like all hex) so it doesn't turn very round. It's not the product but the principle that isn't ideal, it's not worth a real drill with the original direct chuck.
