Description
Drybase Construction Joint Tape is a flexible, rubber-based sealing tape used to bridge & waterproof construction joints and static cracks in concrete and masonry. It is reinforced on both sides with an alkali-resistant polyester fabric mat, forming an integrated web that ensures excellent adhesion while maintaining elasticity under movement.
This 180 mm wide tape is applied using a suitable flexible waterproofing slurry such as Drybase Elasticiser or EL2. Once embedded between two coats of slurry, it forms a durable barrier that resists both positive-side and (with support) negative-side hydrostatic pressure.
Drybase Construction Joint Tape is suitable for prepared mineral substrates, including concrete and brick. It stretches up to 260% before failure and resists salt solutions, diluted acids and alkalis. Typical applications include sealing wall-floor joints, crack repairs, and plugging damp-proof course holes when used with compatible products.
Installation requires embedding the tape into a base layer of waterproofing slurry, then fully covering it with a second coat. A 20 cm overlap is required at joints, mitres and corners to ensure continuous reinforcement. Once cured, it delivers a watertight solution in both new-build and retrofit applications.
