Description

Drybase Liquid-Applied DPM is a single-pack, water-based damp-proof membrane that forms a flexible, seamless barrier to water and ground gases including radon, methane and carbon dioxide. Supplied ready for use, it is ideal for above-ground applications on solid floors, embedded timbers and floor-to-wall junctions. Once applied, it cures to form an elastic coating that is touch-dry in approximately one hour. This bitumen-free membrane is applied in two coats by brush, roller or airless spray. Each layer should be applied at 0.55 litres per square metre, ensuring a dry film thickness of at least 0.6 mm for compliance with CP102:1973 code of practice. Coverage is approximately 4.5 m2 per 5 litres for vapour barrier applications, or up to 9 m2 for general-purpose DPM use, depending on surface porosity. Drybase Liquid-Applied DPM is suitable for use beneath screeds, tiles, laminate flooring and other surface finishes. It is also recommended for sealing embedded timbers, sunken posts, wet room floors and for use as a primer before replastering to help prevent salt attack. The black variant dries from a dark blue colour, providing a visual indicator of cure progress. It is not designed for use under negative water pressure or on external surfaces exposed to direct sunlight. For below-ground applications or situations involving water ingress from the negative side, an alternative waterproofing system such as Drybase Tanking Slurry should be used. Substrates must be clean, structurally sound and free from grease, coatings or loose material. Weak or friable surfaces should be stabilised or primed with Drybase Bondaid Plus. Always allow the first coat to dry before applying the second coat at right angles. Where screeds or levelling compounds are required, these should be laid while the second coat remains tacky, or applied to a keyed surface if cured.
