Description
Drybase TS-PLUS Tanking Slurry is a cementitious, ready-mixed waterproofing compound formulated for application to concrete and masonry surfaces. It provides a durable barrier against both active and passive water pressures while allowing the substrate to remain vapour permeable.
Composed of cement, graded quartz sand and selected performance additives, this slurry is designed to resist frost and heat after curing. It forms a tough, efflorescence-free layer with excellent adhesion on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Once set, the coating is suitable for internal or external use, including damp-proofing walls above ground or waterproofing lower ground structures up to 600 mm below ground level.
Drybase TS-PLUS can be applied by brush, trowel or suitable spray equipment. Each coat should be applied at 1-2 mm thickness, with a total build-up of 2-4 mm over two layers. The second coat should be applied while the first is still damp. A 20 kg bag covers between 3.5 and 5 m2, depending on surface texture.
Substrate preparation is critical. Surfaces must be structurally sound, open-pored and free from debris, laitance or contaminants. Render preparation is advised for porous substrates such as blockwork. Before application, substrates must be damp but not wet, and any active leaks should be plugged using Drybase Waterproof Plug.
Once applied, the coating must be protected from frost, high temperatures and direct sun for at least 24 hours. In ponding or aquatic installations, allow 7-14 days curing followed by a full rinse before introducing water. After curing, it is possible to apply vapour-permeable decorative coatings or plaster over the surface, following the appropriate waiting period and guidance for surface keying.
