I bought this to protect my splitting axe. Probably the wrong type of guard because I have the 75cm curved handle, and not the straight handle, on my Hultafors splitting axe (which it came with) so it does not go right around the handle like the demonstration pictures. But the bottom line is that it protects the major vulnerable front part of the axe, so that's good enough!
