3:1 Shrink Ratio Heat Shrink Tubing

When heat is applied, this heat shrink tubing recovers to one-third of its original diameter. Its high recovery rate allows most damaged cable jackets to be repaired without removing the connectors. Therefore, 3:1 heat shrink tubing can be used in many more applications than 2:1 heat shrink tubing. Furthermore, 3:1 marine heat shrink tubing shrinks more tightly around wires and connectors, eliminating any air gaps. Heat-Activated Adhesive Lining: This is a watertight heat shrink tubing with an internal adhesive layer. When heat is applied, the heat shrink tubing straightens and the internal adhesive layer melts. A thin bead of clear adhesive (approximately 1 mm wide) becomes visible at the end of the heated tubing. Once cooled, it forms a rigid seal. The heat-activated adhesive bonds strongly to wires, connectors, or any other surface. As the adhesive flows, it displaces air and fills the gaps between the wire and the tubing, creating a watertight connection. For best results, we recommend using a heat gun.
