General description

Liberon Hard Wax Oil is a premium blend of oil and wax designed to provide superior protection for wooden flooring and furniture. It maintains the natural appearance of wood while forming a highly durable barrier against water, stains, heat, dirt, and wear. This product is particularly suitable for humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms, but can be used throughout the home. It can be applied to both bare wood and previously oiled wood.

Preparation

The wood must be bare, clean, and dry.

For varnished, painted, or waxed wood: Remove all old finishes with a stripper or sand back to bare wood.

Clean and remove all dust.

For oiled wood: Sand lightly with 240 grit paper and remove all dust.

For bare wood: Clean, sand lightly with 240 grit paper, and remove all dust.

Application

Stir the contents of the tin well before use.

Apply the first coat thinly with a brush or roller and leave to dry for 8 hours.

Sand with 240 grit paper and remove all dust before applying a second coat.

Apply the second coat in the same manner and leave to dry for 24 hours.

The final finish may vary depending on the type of wood, especially with hardwoods.

Usage

The treated surface can be washed with mild detergents.

While the product is drying, avoid contact with textile fibers.

Other information

Hard Wax Oil is safe for use on toys.

Provides a long-lasting, smooth, and low-odour finish.

Libéron is a French brand of V33, the leading manufacturer of paints and stains mainly for wood. The group owns the V33, Cecil, Diamantine, Libéron and Plastor brands. It was founded in 1953 in Domblans (Jura). In the 15th century, the royal abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs obtained a privilege exempting craftsmen from paying taxes when they set up shop on its land. The Seine also provided cabinetmakers in particular with access to their raw materials. Georges Libéron made a name for himself at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 with his antiseptic and parasiticide polish. One of its variations was the famous Oké paste. In 1990, V33 acquired the Libéron group, which specialised in cabinetmaking products and was the French leader in its field, having invented the legendary Black Bison wax, a decorative product for all surfaces. V33 and Libéron are very committed to protecting the environment: 50% of production is solvent-free, glycol ethers have been eliminated, and great care is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
