The RT0700 is a durable and high powered trimmer with shaft lock, horizontal power cord and flat top design. The various bases all have precision depth adjustment for added versatility. Trimmer Base is for smooth and fast cutting with easy handling with a non-slip grip for added control. The Plunge Base has a plunge capacity of 0 - 35mm, easy to operate lock lever, aluminium base plate and ergonomic knob style handles. Tilt Base has a tilting capacity between 30 - 45 degrees, easy to grasp for one handed operation and an enlarged opening section of base assembly for excellent bit visiblity. Haven't tried this yet, bought for my husband for his birthday after he was checking through the Internet for one so he could complete his door project. Just wanted a palm router but the offer that was on , it just made sense to get the whole package so he could help his sons and additional hobbies closer to his retirement. So far he's incredibly happy with all the extras plus a tidy man cave with the carry case, makita are pretty well known so in no doubt it'll suit his needs
