Product information
Description
Specification: Item Type: Memory Saver Material: ABS - Metal Instructions and Operation: Powered by any jump starter with a 12-volt outlet and connected to the OBD II memory saver. Connection interface between the 12V DC power supply and the vehicle's OBD II port. Retains vehicle codes and electronic presets. Replacing a car battery on an older vehicle used to be simple. You unhooked the old battery and then installed the new one. However, newer cars rely on a computer to run everything from the stereo to the transmission. If the computer loses power, the settings will be lost and will need to be reset to default settings. This means the vehicle's feel may be different while driving, and you may need to enter a security code to access the stereo system. Using this simple memory saver device when replacing your car battery will help you avoid these problems. The device can operate with any 12V DC power source, including jump starters, 12V DC sealed batteries, or 12V DC power outlets in other cars. As a 3-meter cable unit, it's a convenient option if you don't have a jump starter (or sealed battery) available, and the unit also receives 12V power from the cigarette lighter socket of another good car. Simply plug the cigarette lighter plug into that car, then plug the 16-pin connector into the OBD port of the car where the battery needs to be replaced. You can now replace the battery. As a typical OBD automatic memory protector, there is no protection against incorrect polarity (AIP), so if a power supply is used, the device will not function correctly.
