Product information

Description

1) Reliable protection against overload and short-circuit (without residual current protection)This 2P miniature circuit breaker (MCB), C curve, 25 A rating, is designed to provide effective protection for circuits in homes as well as small commercial premises. It trips automatically in the event of an overload (heating of conductors, prolonged overcurrent) or a short-circuit (sudden overcurrent), in order to limit the risk of cable damage, damage to appliances and abnormal heating in the consumer unit. Important: this is a non-residual current circuit breaker; it does not protect against current leakage (personal protection). For socket circuits, damp rooms (bathroom, kitchen), water heaters, outdoor installations, etc., it is recommended to add a residual current switch / RCD (RCD/RCCB) or to opt for an RCBO depending on the configuration and the applicable installation standard.2) 2 poles: simultaneous disconnection of live + neutral, for greater peace of mind day to dayThe 2P configuration allows two conductors to be disconnected simultaneously, typically live and neutral in single-phase. This double-pole disconnection is valued for circuits where more complete isolation is desired when switched off: single-phase supply, dedicated outgoing line for air conditioning, heating or electrothermal appliances. It also makes certain maintenance practices easier (clearer circuit isolation for safety) and integrates easily into a modular consumer unit. Compact and simple to implement, this miniature format is suitable for modern distribution boards where space and wiring accessibility matter.3) 25 A rating: suitable for more powerful circuits (to be confirmed according to cables and load)The C25 A rating allows continuous operation at around 25 A under normal conditions, without nuisance tripping. In 230 V single-phase, this corresponds to a theoretical power of around 5 kW (to be qualified according to the load profile, duration of use, temperature in the consumer unit and line length). This rating is frequently considered for more demanding outgoing lines: large household appliances, certain kitchen circuits, heating equipment, air conditioning or grouped loads. For a safe installation, the conductor cross-section, installation method and overall selectivity of the consumer unit should be checked: a correctly chosen circuit breaker must protect the line (cable) as much as the equipment, in order to avoid the dangerous case of a “small cable protected by too large a rating”.4) C curve: the ideal compromise for everyday uses with inrush currentThe C curve is a very common tripping characteristic in residential and small commercial settings, because it tolerates start-up inrush currents better than the B curve, while remaining protective and suitable for standard circuits. It is particularly suitable for appliances with motors or compressors: refrigerators, air conditioners, fans, small pumps, tools, etc. In practical terms, this reduces the risk of tripping at start-up while maintaining effective protection against overcurrents. It is therefore a versatile choice when looking for a general-purpose circuit breaker for mixed circuits or loads with intermittent starts.5) Electrical characteristics and compliance: 230–400 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 6 kA, EN 60898-1This circuit breaker is intended for use on 230 to 400 V AC and 50/60 Hz networks, covering most common electrical environments. Its 6 kA breaking capacity indicates its ability to safely interrupt a high short-circuit current, a common and relevant level for many domestic consumer units and small shops (to be adapted if the installation is close to a source with high short-circuit power). Compliance with EN 60898-1 provides a recognised framework regarding tripping performance, heating, construction safety and durability in service. For a compliant and long-lasting installation, fitting in the consumer unit (DIN rail), tightening of the terminals and the choice of associated protections should ideally be carried out or validated by a qualified electrician.
