Usage

The NOx sensor operates by detecting the nitrogen oxide levels in the exhaust. When the catalytic converter's storage capacity is reached, the sensor signals the engine control unit to switch to a richer fuel mixture for a short duration, allowing for the reduction of nitrogen oxides to harmless nitrogen. This regeneration process occurs approximately every 60 seconds under poor operating conditions.
