General description

Osmo Decking Oil in Massaranduba is designed to enhance and protect wooden decking while maintaining the natural character of the wood. This oil is safe for humans, animals, and plants once dry, and it offers high resistance to water and dirt. Its microporous, penetrating finish prevents cracking, peeling, or flaking, making it an ideal choice for outdoor surfaces.

Moisture content max. for wood surface: 20%

Surface preparation

Bare wood species with high natural extractives need to weather for a minimum of 4 weeks before treatment.

Resinous woods like Larch or Douglas Fir require at least 6 weeks of weathering.

Pressure impregnated wood and tropical species such as Massaranduba need to weather for at least 3 months.

Cedar also requires a 3-month weathering period.

Greyed and weathered wood can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying the oil.

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Stir the oil well before use and do not thin.

For best results, apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation if possible.

Use a stiff brush (Osmo Flat Brush) or a lint-free cloth for application.

For easier application, consider using the Osmo Decking Brush (150 mm).

Usage

Apply the oil thinly and evenly along the wood grain.

Allow for good ventilation while drying; lower temperatures and higher humidity can delay drying.

After the first coat is dry, apply a second coat thinly.

If a lighter color is desired, use clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 for the second coat.

For additional protection against blue stain, rot, and insect attack, pre-treat the wood with Osmo WR Impregnation.

Other information

Always wear a dust mask when sanding.

Conduct a trial application on unfamiliar surfaces to assess the finished appearance.
