General description

Osmo End Grain Sealing Wax is specially designed to protect the edge grain of decking against cracks and prevent wood ingredients from bleeding. It offers high weather resistance and is safe for humans, animals, and plants once dry. This sealing wax is very water and dirt resistant, minimizes wood swelling and shrinkage, and features a microporous, breathable finish that does not crack, peel, or flake. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Coverage: 5m²/L or approximately 600 decking boards on both ends

Drying time: 3-4 hours

Coats: 2 coats recommended

Moisture content of wood surface: maximum 20%

Installation

Surface preparation: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Application tool: Use an Osmo Flat Brush or a lint-free cloth.

Method of application: Apply generously to end grains, ideally two coats wet-in-wet or a second coat after drying.

Note: Wipe away any excess wax from other surfaces with a cloth.

Usage

Regular cleaning: Use Osmo Decking Cleaner with an Osmo Decking Cleaning Brush for damp cleaning.

Occasional maintenance: For intensive cleaning, use Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel or Osmo Gard Clean.

Recoating: Reapply one coat onto a clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.

Other information

Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect).

After drying, it is recommended to coat other wood surfaces with Osmo wood finishes (e.g., Bangkirai-Oil, Massaranduba-Oil, Country Colour, or Natural Oil Woodstain).

Using power washers may severely decrease the coverage of the finish, and general or multi-purpose cleaners may increase maintenance frequency.
