Description

General description

Osmo Stone and Terracotta Oil is a specially formulated oil for exterior stone and terracotta surfaces. It provides a unique combination of protection against dirt and abrasion while being highly water-repellent. This product features a microporous, breathable finish that does not crack, peel, flake, or blister, making it ideal for materials such as terracotta, granite, limestone, and slate.

Installation

Ensure the surface is absorbent, clean, dry, and frost-free.

Stir the oil well before use.

Apply very thinly using an Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, or Microfibre Roller.

Remove any excess product with a pad or lint-free cloth.

For larger areas, excess oil can be removed with a rubber scraper and polished with a buffing machine (white pad).

Allow to dry for 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.

Apply a second coat very thinly and remove any excess again.

For previously oiled surfaces, one coat on a cleaned surface is usually sufficient.

Usage

Oils enhance the natural color of the substrate, creating a permanent wet effect.

Trial application is essential to assess the effect on the specific surface.

Regular cleaning can be done with Osmo Decking Cleaner and a Decking Cleaning Brush.

For occasional maintenance, use Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel or Osmo Gard Clean.

Recoating is simple; just reapply one coat onto a clean and dry surface when signs of wear appear.

Other information

Non-absorbent surfaces like glass, glazed tiles, or ceramics cannot be treated.

Protect substrates sensitive to solvents, such as Plexiglas.

A lack of ventilation can delay drying times.

Using power washers may decrease the coverage of the finish, while general cleaners can increase maintenance frequency.

White or very light-colored surfaces may yellow slightly after treatment.

The acid sensitivity of stones like marble remains unaffected.
