SPIT (or Société de prospection et d'inventions techniques) was founded in 1951 in the Drôme region. Its head office is in Bourg-lès-Valence, near Valence. In 1993, SPIT invented its famous orange gas nailer, which would remain a world exclusive for 10 years, giving its customers a head start. Historically focused on building professionals and cavers, SPIT has also designed specific products for homeowners, with its products for sealing (chemical, metal-plastic plugs, self-drilling), nailing, screwing and perforating.
