Further information: The accuracy is relatively high below 150 ppt; the deviation is greater above 160 ppt. The measurable salinity in seawater is usually given in grams per kilogram of water. The measuring range for freshwater is between 0.00 and 25.00% with an accuracy of 0.01–5.00% (±0.1%) and 5.10–25.00% (±1%), respectively.
