Use
To perform a graft, follow these steps:- Select a good scion and trim it (wipe the grafting knife with alcohol) for a perfect fit to the rootstock.
- Tie the scion with nursery tape or rubber.
- Apply the grafting tape to the grafting area, overlapping it 3 to 4 times.
- Cover the grafting area with a clear plastic bag. If direct sunlight reaches the grafted area, use a brown paper lunch bag to protect it.
- After 3 weeks, if the scion still appears greenish, there is a good chance you will see the new bud emerge from the scion in 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the temperature.
