Installation

It is recommended to have a professional mechanic install the window motor.

For DIY installation, the process typically involves:

Removing the door panel

Disconnecting the power window switch

Disconnecting the window motor lead

Removing the window

Removing the regulator’s bolts

Pulling the regulator out of the door

Before reinstalling the door panel, test the regulator by connecting the wiring harness to the power window switch.

For some regulators, resetting the auto-pinch feature may be necessary.

For manual window regulators, the process includes:

Removing the window crank handle

Removing the door panel

Punching or drilling out the regulators or loosening the bolts that attach it to the door and window track.
