Description

This universal flaring tool allows you to flange aluminium or copper pipes quickly and easily. The adjustable clamp allows the tool to be used on pipes from 4.7mm to 16mm diameter. The compact flaring tool produces precise 45° flares and is a must-have in every toolbox.

Universal Tube Flange Tool
- Flaring of brake lines and air conditioning systems
- Produces tapered single flares
- Suitable for copper and aluminium tubing
- Tube diameters from 3/16" (4.7mm) to 5/8" (16mm)
- Self-centering pipe clamp

How to Use
- Cut the tube end at right angles to the tube axis
- Deburr the tube end with a tube deburrer
- Slide the flare nut over the tube
- Insert the tube end into the clamp from below
- Allow the pipe end to protrude approximately 1/8" (3mm) from the clamp
- Tighten the clamp firmly: if you feel any resistance, tighten a further half turn
- Apply a drop of oil to the flaring cone
- Position the flaring tool over the clamp
- The undercuts on the flaring tool must engage with the underside of the clamp
- Centre the flaring tool over the pipe end
- Turn the handle onto the pipe end until the flaring cone touches it
- Make the specified number of half-turns
- 6 - 8 mm: 4 half-turns, 10 - 12 mm: 5 half-turns, 14 - 16 mm: 6 half-turns
- Screw the flaring cone back on
- Loosen the flaring tool from the clamp
- Loosen the flared tube
