Tried a metal gate previously but not successful this gate is far easier to use on the stairs and because it retracts there’s no tripping over a bar on the bottom step !

Needed a retractable stair gate to prevent puppies getting upstairs. This product works well, good quality components and the mesh screen is tough and not easily damaged by inpatient paws and teeth! Would work better if it was attached to flush walls or doorframe. Sits a bit wonky on our stairs due to the skirting board, But still no issues.
