Ronseal Direct to Metal Paint is a high-quality, water-based paint designed to provide a tough and durable finish for metal surfaces. It can be applied directly to rust without the need for a primer, making it an ideal choice for quick and effective metal restoration. This paint offers 15 years of protection and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and grease.
  • Remove loose rust or paint with a wire brush or 120-grit sandpaper.
  • For previously painted surfaces in good condition, lightly sand with 240-grit sandpaper.
  • For flaking paint, remove completely before applying.
  • Stir the paint thoroughly for 2-3 minutes before use.
  • Apply 2 coats for standard protection, or 3 coats for maximum durability, allowing 2-4 hours between coats.
  • Usage

  • Apply with a brush, roller, or spray, diluting with about 10% water if spraying.
  • For best results, paint in dry conditions above 10°C and avoid rain.
  • Touch dry in 30 minutes after the final coat.
  • Inspect annually for any damage or wear, and touch up as needed with additional coats.
